The administrators and staff at King David Community Center spare no effort, time, or money to make the stay of their elderly clients as varied and as beneficial to their health as possible. We have already discussed many of the activities offered by the center, with more to come; but now, we would like to take a moment to talk about perhaps one of the most important services of the Center, contributing a lot to the longevity and active lifestyle of our retirees. Here, we are talking about the regular trips visitors of the Center take to various parks, gardens, and natural reserves, the beauty of which is so abundant here in Georgia.
The health benefits of outdoor exercise in the fresh air have been known to people since time immemorial. But, unfortunately, things like constant work, lack of time, and sometimes, to be honest, basic laziness and disorganization can cause anyone to ignore the advice of both ancient and modern doctors alike. However, the administrators of King David Community Center are firmly convinced that, when it comes to matters of health, there are no small trifles. Because of this, trips out in to the beautiful Georgian nature are an integral part of our daily activities.
First, it is necessary to find the best place for a good nature walk. Ideally, this is an area that is not only completely clear of dust, smog, and other delights of a large metropolitan, but also free from the hustle and bustle of masses of people, which can irritate even young people, let alone retirees. And the administrators of the Community Center have long chosen a few suitable places like this, and even worked out several different routes, taking in to account the individual characteristics and general health status for different categories of their retirees. For some, there are mostly flat, straight routes without bumps or potholes; or others, for some who can adventure slightly uphill, without disturbing their recommended heart rate.
Nature walks also offer greater joy when done in a group of people you enjoy, who share the same interests as you, and find topics for pleasant conversation easily. Meanwhile, the accompanying medical professionals also closely monitor the tempo of the walks, ensuring that our retirees don't force their work-load, and only gradually build up the length and speed of their hikes.
Overall, if the nature walk is well organizes, as ours is, it will significantly improve the mental state of the elderly, allowing them to achieve the desired state of relaxation, calmness, and generally improve satisfaction with life. Also, the specialists at King David Community Center are also aware that regular outdoor walks greatly promote weight-loss, which offers many other positive affects on general well-being and life expectancy.
