King David Community Center tries its best to ensure better lives for its seniors. With this in mind, they offer another service for its clients in home delivered meals. Because not all seniors can prepare meals for themselves, KDCC does it for them.
Clients have their own specialized charts where any and illnesses are listed to ensure they get meals that correspond to their health requirements. A dietician is always involved in creating appropriate and strict menus for clients who need special help in creating a menu that works best for their health. These menus are designed for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Meal allowances can range anywhere from 2-3 all the way up to 14 meals per week, the amount of meals received all depends on the case managers and their recommendations.
Meals are delivered via special truck that has special coolers installed to maintain the freshness of the food. All deliveries are made according to schedule, and are directly to the homes of the seniors. All meals are vacuumed and sealed or put into disposable, microwaveable boxes for convenient heating.
Another way KDCC provides food for their clients is by providing them meals based on their national and cultural kitchens. Those of Russian descent get Russian food cooked by Russian chefs; those of Vietnamese descent get Vietnamese food cooked by Vietnamese chefs, etc. All this is done in order to provide its clients with comfort ability in knowing what they are eating.
